Sheesh, I haven’t updated since September? I knew it had been a while, but this is just excessive.

So, I had a baby and she’s six months old and beautiful. She has her own blog. Ask me for the link if you want it.

I’ve hardly had any time to play games for the last six months. I just reinstalled Diablo 2 this last week once they announced Diablo 3 was coming out. I finally managed to get some time to install the expansion for NWN2 as well, but then decided to finish the main campaign first, since I’m so close and someone totally lied about the expansion not following after the main campaign. It totally does!

I’m also waiting eagerly for Fallout 3 and Spore. I’ll link to my Spore page later if I can figure out how to do it.

I’m also also re-reading some classics from my tween years right now: I’m about halfway through “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe,” and “The Grey King” (Susan Cooper’s Dark is Rising series).

Oh, yeah, and I took up knitting.

More comprehensive updates will hopefully come later, as I think I’m turning the corner on being able to find the time to type up a thing or two.

(Edit 10/09: Looks like I managed to break the link to the image when cleaning up the site at some point. Sorry, history.)

I had my first prenatal visit today, with the prenatal nurse. (I won’t see the ob until June 5, when I’ll be nearly 10 weeks along. It was the earliest visit they had.) I have a pile of paperwork to read through, though the nurse often was backing up what I’d already read.

She said they’ll do a sonogram at the next visit, and warned me that it’ wouldn’t be the tummy kind like you see in the movies. Fortunately, I was already prepared for that. She confirmed that J can go to that visit with me, so if he can stomach it, he’ll get to see the heartbeat right then. If not, she says I get pictures to take home.

Maybe I’ll take up scrapbooking. Hah.

Symptomatically, I’m not that bad off. I have some queasiness, but have found that not letting my stomach get entirely empty helps with that. Really, it hasn’t been that bad anyway. I had said to some folks last week that I wasn’t having mood swings, but I seem to be today, so people might want to watch out! I am, however, shopping for a sports bra. These painful things keep getting in the way. Ouch.

Well, it’s official. I am, indeed, pregnant. At this point, I’m just five weeks along. I have my first prenatal visit, with the prenatal nurse (not the Ob yet) in just under two weeks.

I find myself having little mini fits of panic over the stupidest things. This morning, it was over the fact that I’m not sick. There are “studies” that say that how sick you are indicates how well the pregnancy is going. I know from other reading I’ve done and from people I’ve spoken to that not being sick can be a completely normal sort of thing (statistics say it only affects 50% to 80%), but it was still bugging me until I dug around on the Internet and found posts by dozens of women saying they never had even a smidgen of sickness, or anything else, in their first trimester.

I guess I get to look forward to nine months of trying not to worry about stupid things. Hah. Maybe it’ll be good for my stress management skills.

I need to start writing again, need to start using this again. I think a three month hiatus is plenty long.

So, in news for today, I managed to burn my fingers like a clutzoid. See, we have this water dispenser at my work that gives both refrigerated cold water and scalding hot water. The little indicator says the hot water is at 186 degrees. So, I’m trying to get the water in my little paper cup, and I have it tilted slightly to try to get the water to the bottom. (I’m making oatmeal and it never seems to mix well at the bottom.) I guess I tilted it a little too far, because I felt my fingers burning right off. I’m suprised I didn’t drop the cup. I did spill a little still.

So, the skin between my index and middle fingers is red and very tender. At least it didn’t blister. It hurts to type. And yet, today is the day I decide to start blogging again. Heh.
