Spooky

Much of yesterday was spent getting through some of the Hallow’s End achievements.  I have most of the easier ones out of the way.  The Tricks and Treats are going to have to wait.  Apparently, there’s a bug that breaks some of the Outland and Kalimdor candy buckets if you get any of the Northrend ones first.  Surprisingly, I was able to tag along with some nice Black Company folks for the Headless Horseman.  Even though I couldn’t summon him yet myself, the achievement only requires that you kill him, and that we did.  The paladin in the group did an awesome job of keeping little paper armor rogue me alive.  The Achievements completed were:

  • Trick or Treat
  • The Savior of Hallow’s End
  • Bring Me The Head of… Oh Wait
  • Out With It
  • Tricks and Treats of Eastern Kingdoms
  • Rotten Hallow
  • That Sparkling Smile

I haven’t found any of the masks yet from Trick or Treating.  Fortunately, those aren’t needed for the meta-achievement, but I would like to finish them anyway.  I think the hardest part is going to be getting the Squashling and the pumpkin helm, since those are random from the Treat Bags and the wrapped gifts.

I also managed to get the last two points I needed in Leatherworking to make Grandmaster, and get the “Working Day and Night” achievement.  I will never have to look at that horrid Heavy Knothide Leather again.  Farming it was annoying, and the recipes I had weren’t high enough to guarantee me a point.  Now, though, I can move on to the Borean Leather, and that’s been much much better.

Also also, everyone (who merged their BNet accounts) was mailed a Mr. Chilly Thursday or Friday, including me, and I had some good luck on my second Crocs in the City fishing daily.  This time, I found Chuck’s Bucket, so that’s two of four crocs done.  I bought the last few Horde vendor pets I needed from the cross faction auction house for a terribly reasonable price, and that brought me to a grand total of 56 pets.

I did the earliest quests in Northrend, in an effort to better equip myself, but now I think I’m going to go back to working on Kalimdor Loremaster for a while, or some sort of rep grinding or pet farming.  I really want to take things a little slower, and questing in Northrend pushed me to level 71 already.
