Nine Muses

The battle started off pretty normally, with everyone rushing together to Gal (other than a few folks peeling off for this or that other target) and we took him down so quickly that people were exclaiming about the amount of DPS in the group. As we approached Frostwolf, though, we met with some strong resistance, and they pushed us back. In fact, I think because we hadn’t claimed the right graveyards or some such, there were a lot of us all the way back at the start.

We ended up getting caught with the Horde turtling at Stonehearth. There were folks yelling to just run through en masse because they couldn’t get all of us, and perhaps that would have worked, but no one was trying it. One guy was saying that he was doing the quest turnins to get us upgrades, and others were mocking him, saying we just had to run past the turtle and take out Drek. At this point, the Horde had a little over 200 reinforcements left, and we had just dropped under 100. Looking at the score, I’m figuring there’s no way we can win. Someone hollered for us to take back our mine, so myself and a couple of others ran in and did that.

Around this time, the Horde had pushed us all the way back to the bridge into the Stormpike base area. Again, that same guy that was hollering about doing the upgrade turnins says he’s going to summon the druid, and people should turn in their crystals. Again, some others mocked him, and lots of folks were saying we couldn’t win. Around this time, the score was about 125 for the Horde and maybe 50 for us.

The guy that was hollering about the turnins must have convinced enough folks (I didn’t know where the person was to turn the stuff in to, though I do now.) because in comes the Arch Druid. Also around this time, and maybe because of that (I also heard something about gryphons, so maybe we got an air strike too?) we started pushing the Horde back and back and back. Our reinforcements stopped going down, but theirs started going down faster. When we got back to the SH GY, the score was down to 30/25 Horde, and we were inching closer and closer. We took the SH GY about 30 seconds before we finally won. Final score: 18/0 Alliance. It was that close.
