Flight

I’ve been saving up for a while for my flying mount (ever since I transferred Sera to her current server). For some reason, I had it stuck in my head that I needed 1000 gold. Maybe it used to be that much. I finally decided to cave and send Sera the money from Ceire. (It helps that J offered me 500 gold too. Even though I told him to hold onto it unless Ceire needed it later, it helped to know there was a cushion somewhere since I barely had 1100 gold between both Sera and Ceire.)
So, I read the letter from the flight training instructor to remind myself where to go – and I notice it only costs 600 gold! Well, now it’s going to be easy, I think, and I’m feeling relieved.
I get to the trainer and talk to her and… it only costs 200 gold! Now, instead of being relieved, I’m annoyed. I could have bought this a month ago if I’d known it was this cheap!
So, now I have my flying mount. I bought the Ebon Gryphon, as I think it’s the prettiest of the gryphons. And because I could fly, I was able to finish up a few more achievements. Specifically:
- Into the Wild Blue Yonder (Learning the flight skill.)
- Explore Hellfire Peninsula (I could fly over the Kil’jaeden area.)
- Explore Terokkar Forest (I could fly over Skettis.)
I also finished up Chef de Partie – I found a couple more vendor recipes in Allerian Stronghold – and Mysteries of the Marsh.
Purchasing the gryphon brought me up to 34 mounts, which is one step closer to Leading the Cavalry and my Albino Drake. I know this one won’t happen anytime soon and will require rep grinding, but I’m still itching for it.
I also decided to fly out to the Stormspire in Netherstorm and buy the pets he has for sale. This brings me up to a total of 44 pets (once the Jubling egg hatches). If J gets me the remaining five Horde side pets this weekend, then that’ll mean just one more pet to the Shop Smart, Shop Pet … Smart achievement. If I transfer my old bank alt/paladin to my current server, that’ll wrap it up as she has two or three unbound BoE pets that Sera doesn’t have yet.
Loremaster side note: Terror of Terokkar is proving much more difficult than expected. It seems like all the quests I find are group quests, and I’m worried I’m going to have to go into the instances a little to finish things up, though I may just go on to other zones and hope some of them lead back to Terokkar.

Pretty sure the lower cost was just introduced in the latest patch.

Then it’s a good thing I didn’t have the money before now!
