This past weekend, I had some good luck in two separate pet-related ways. First, I finally had a Sinister Squashling show up in one of my Treat bags. Now I just need the Helm and I can realistically get the Hallowed title and achievement this year. Second, as I was working on the Loremaster of Kalimdor title by questing in Dustwallow, I saw Dart shoot past me. I sprinted to catch up to him, and he dropped the Darting Hatchling for me, which is my new favorite companion. Every once in a while, he runs really fast away from me, then in another direction, and then back to me. It’s entirely too cute.

I have now done the Crocolisks in the City fishing daily quest three times. Each time, I have received a different bucket (pet baby crocolisk) as a reward. That in itself may not be terribly surprising. The drop rate is rumored to be around 60%. What does seem surprising (and great!) to me is that each time has given me a different baby crocolisk. Last night, I added Toothy to my collection. That means I have only Muckbreath left to go.

For the last week or so, I have only needed one of the Dalaran Fishing dailies to complete the achievement (Chasing Marcia). Last night, it popped up: Dangerously Delicious. This quest requires you to fish up ten Terrorfish, which can only be found in Wintergrasp.

Much of yesterday was spent getting through some of the Hallow’s End achievements. I have most of the easier ones out of the way. The Tricks and Treats are going to have to wait. Apparently, there’s a bug that breaks some of the Outland and Kalimdor candy buckets if you get any of the Northrend ones first. Surprisingly, I was able to tag along with some nice Black Company folks for the Headless Horseman. Even though I couldn’t summon him yet myself, the achievement only requires that you kill him, and that we did. The paladin in the group did an awesome job of keeping little paper armor rogue me alive. The Achievements completed were:
- Trick or Treat
- The Savior of Hallow’s End
- Bring Me The Head of… Oh Wait
- Out With It
- Tricks and Treats of Eastern Kingdoms
- Rotten Hallow
- That Sparkling Smile
I haven’t found any of the masks yet from Trick or Treating. Fortunately, those aren’t needed for the meta-achievement, but I would like to finish them anyway. I think the hardest part is going to be getting the Squashling and the pumpkin helm, since those are random from the Treat Bags and the wrapped gifts.

On my fourth Shattrath fishing daily, the Crocolisks in the City quest finally showed up. I’d read that the drop rate on the pet reward for this had been upped to around 60% (from a previously reported 2%) and it looks like that might have been true. Snarly’s Bucket is now mine! He is really too too too cute. I’ve never really liked any of the other cold blooded pets (frogs and snakes and the like) so I wasn’t expecting to like him so much. He makes the cutest little, “Mmmeeeehhhh,” sound when you click on him too.
